Roaster Scope v3.4.0

October 31, 2025

Last version featuring legacy builds supporting macOS 10.13+, Window 8, as well as last version supporting RPi OS bookworm.

Changes​

  • BREAKING VISUAL CHANGE, but only when consecutive hidden buttons with Type or Action defined are first at the top of the Events Buttons table: The visual button layout may change as hidden buttons with Type or Action defined at the top of the Events Buttons table are no longer counted in the first row's button count, which is limited by the Max Buttons per Row setting. All other hidden buttons continue to be counted in each row's button count.
  • updates Spanish localization (thanks to Juan Carlos Bonilla)
  • updates Chinese localization (thanks to Terracotta-6)
  • updates Korean localization (thanks to HarioSwitch)
  • unlimited number of buttons can be created while display is limited to maximum 10 rows with maximum 50 buttons each
  • palette load uses and updates the user selected profile path
  • increases the maximum number of recent roast entries from 25 to 40
  • makes synchronization of main events with Kaleido and Santoker roasting machines configurable (disabled by default)
  • updates internal PID by adding Advanced Integral Windup Prevention, derivative on measurement calculation (DoM), measurement discontinuity detection, derivative limiting and enhanced setpoint change detection to prevent the derivative kicks and spikes

  • graph updates immediately when smoothing value changes
  • eliminates the term 'slave' from the whole project, but for a small compatibility layer to be remove in one of the next versions
  • updates MPL default font selection for Asian and Arabic languages under Windows
  • the batch counter and autosave mechanisms are now active by default after first installation or a factory reset
  • the configuration for taking ambient temperature from a data curve moved from the Roast Properties dialog to the Devices configuration dialog and configurations for taking ambient humidity and ambient pressure from curve data have been added (Issue #586 and PR #1882)
  • ensures that the default file suffixes on file save are applied (PR #1965). Thanks Scott!
  • activates large PID LCDs for internal software PID and external TC4/MODBUS/S7 PIDs
  • the scheduler indicates now significant changes to the current schedule as received from the artisan platform, which have to be acknowledged by the user
  • changes COOL in alarms to COOL END for consistency (PR #1976)
  • remember loaded settings filename as default on save (PR #1975)
  • BatchManager resets on tare triggered by button press on the Acaia scale
  • automatic timeline extension now relative to sampling interval
  • Linux builds require now glibc >=2.35
